Skadden's Cybersecurity and Data Privacy group in Washington, D.C. is seeking an outstanding junior to mid-level associate to join its Global Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Practice. Candidates should have two to five years of relevant experience, which includes handling data privacy, cybersecurity, and/or artificial intelligence matters. The ideal candidates will have experience assisting clients with:Building compliance data privacy law and cybersecurity programs in the US (including for CCPA, CPA, BIPA, HIPAA, WMHMDA, and other US state and federal privacy laws).Conducting cyber and data privacy due diligence and M&A support.Drafting privacy policies and negotiating data processing agreements.Additional experience that would be beneficial includes:Regulatory investigations relating to data privacy and cybersecurity issues.Cybersecurity preparedness and data breach response.High level of academic achievement and solid law firm experience preferred. A strong interest in the field of data privacy and cybersecurity is desired. Work experience in the federal government or law enforcement on cybersecurity or data privacy issues, including non-legal experience, is welcome.The starting base salary for this Washington, D.C. position is expected to be between $235,000 to $310,000 annually. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law.Skadden's multidisciplinary Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Practice assists clients in navigating the rapidly evolving cybersecurity, privacy, and technology landscapes. Our team serves as a global one-stop shop for our clients' cybersecurity, incident response, data protection, privacy, and related AI challenges.
