We strive to deliver high-quality, innovative, and best-in-class products and services that offer high value to members and stakeholders.WHAT YOU’LL DOAs the Senior Accountant, AR, you will:Account Receivable (Microsoft Dynamics GP, Sage Intacct, and Personify):Process checks, lockbox payments, and credit cards daily.Generate bi-weekly Accounts Receivable Aging Reports and notify budget managers.Conduct monthly meetings with budget managers to review outstanding payments.Reconcile Personify Accounts Receivable balances with Microsoft Dynamics GP quarterly.Review and post Membership/PBD batches daily; research credits, overpayments, and unapplied payments.Manage vendor ACH/credit card enrollments for receivables.Run monthly aging and sales reports; send past due notifications.Email monthly distributor invoices and past due notices.Process distributor payments daily; record inventory returns and resolve discrepancies.Provide training on AR functions.Fixed Assets Management (Sage Fixed Assets):Add new assets to Sage Fixed Assets software monthly.Maintain cost schedules for assets under development.Assess and dispose of assets quarterly.Calculate monthly depreciation and reconcile with general ledger.Prepare Annual Personal Property Tax Return for the District of Columbia.General Ledger Duties:Monitor daily bank activity and prepare journal entries.Record and allocate bank and credit card fees quarterly.Reconcile copier and postage accounts monthly.Assist with month-end close and year-end audit/tax preparation.Assist with budgeting and document retention/destruction.LOCATION: Washington, DC – Hybrid, two days a week in the office (Tuesday & Thursday)WHO WE’RE LOOKING FORExperience and Education required:A bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred. In lieu of degree, other relevant filed experience may be considered.At least 5+ years in a senior level accounting position.Skills, knowledge, and abilities required:Proficiency with Microsoft Office365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).Strong proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics GP, Sage Intacct, Sage Fixed Assets software.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.High level of attention to detail and confidentiality.Customer service-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.APhA does not make hiring decisions on the basis of race, color, creed, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic background, age, disability, veteran status, religion, political affiliation, or any other characteristic protected by state, federal, or local law.Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
