Overview

This is a hybrid role - 2 days remote and 3 days in the Malvern, PA office.

CubeSmart is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join the Human Resources team at its Malvern, PA headquarters. The Human Resources Business Partner provides leadership and direction to business leaders and teammates concerning human resources activities and initiatives.

Responsibilities

This role is an instrumental advisor and resource on the subject of talent management including teammate relations, performance management, engagement and development. A successful individual will partner with business leaders and teammates to optimize our teammates' experience and provide leadership in shaping an inclusive culture, driving collaboration and building partnerships. This role has a high degree of collaboration across the organization, the broader HR department team members and legal team.

Business PartnershipServe as a coach and trusted advisor to business leaders on all aspects of Talent ManagementExecute on talent management strategies that support the growth of the businessAct as steward for attracting, developing and retaining diverse talent in the organizationAnalyze people data and recommend the best action steps for the businessEnsure the company's workforce has the right size, shape, cost, and agility for the futureSelect and develop key talent to ensure there are talents to fill in critical rolesSupport all teammate employment activity including investigations, disciplinary action job performance, and other CubeSmart processesCoaching/Development

Provide coaching and counseling to all levels of management on talent activities including career development, performance management, engagement, compensation, and organizational designProvide guidance to individual managers regarding managerial styles, skills and performanceDrive performance management within the business unit; including annual performance reviews, 360 reviews and performance assessmentsSupport the development of top talent by facilitating talent reviews, executing development programs and educating the organization on talent best practicesPresent training programs in all areas of human resources functionsTeammate Relations

Independently conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations performing root cause analysis, mitigating risk, and developing plans that support positive outcomes in line with company valuesProvide coaching and counseling to managers and teammates to resolve teammate relations issues and conflict, and to minimize CubeSmart's legal risk in employment mattersInform and advise teammates of the CubeSmart human resource policies and proceduresProvide ongoing communication to teammates at all levels concerning CubeSmart programs impacting teammatesAct as a liaison to internal and external counsel to ensure all applicable laws are being followedCompliance

Ensure all CubeSmart employment processes are completed timely including but not limited to Workflow, Performance Reviews, maintenance of teammate personnel files, etc.Understand, communicate, and ensure compliance with all CubeSmart employment policies and procedures and any applicable lawsDevelop and maintain in depth, current knowledge and understanding of applicable wage and hour laws, local compensation issues, federal, state and local laws and regulations and legislation affecting employmentProvide guidance on the creation and implementation of HR processes and policiesCollaboration

Serve as primary human resources liaison between headquarters and Divisional Offices; create and maintain a close partner relationship with Division and headquarters managementWork with CubeSmart's internal and external legal counsel on employment issues including but not limited to at risk terminations, subpoenas, and lawsuits as necessaryWork collaboratively with recruiting team on recruitment and retention activitiesLead broader HR department initiatives as determinedQualifications

(Education, licenses, certifications and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required):

Bachelor's degree requiredMaster's degree or Human Resource certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferredMinimum of 8 years human resources experience of which a minimum of 5 years' experience as a human resources business partner who resolved complex HR issues (including teammate relations and investigations) requiredExperience in large (1000+) company preferredProficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as experience working with HRIS systems required.Travel up to 25%
