Job Description

Who we are looking for.A Senior IT Application Architect with 12+ years' experience to join our Portfolio Analytics Technology Solutions team. The candidate will play a key role in designing and optimizing software solutions, and drive architecture consistency across all the application platforms within portfolio analytics IT team - Research, Characteristics, Risk, Performance Attribution, Exposures. The candidate will work closely with application development teams, SSGA's architecture and Infrastructure teams to ensure alignment with the IT strategy.

The position is located in Boston, MA. This is a hybrid schedule with 4 days onsite a week and 4 additional weeks remote.

What you will be responsible forDesign scalable and robust application architecture for the portfolio analytics systems and drive consistency where possible across the applications and platforms.Deliver solutions for business and technology priorities on-time and within budget, ensuring alignment with State Street's standards, data and cloud strategies, IT Risk and Resiliency.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, resolve architectural issues, and ensure successful project execution.Provide technical guidance and expertise to the application teams, act as an advocate for change management, and inspire innovation and creativity in technology solution.Create and maintain comprehensive architectural and design documentation, ensuring that all technical solutions are well-documented.Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, providing recommendations for adopting new tools and technologies to improve our technology stack.Integrate AI and machine learning technologies into our applications, enhancing user experience and driving innovation.Ensure all technical solutions exhibit higher level of efficiency, performance, security, scalability, and reliability.Communicate with all stakeholders involved including senior management, developers, architects, and business end users, who may be based in different locations and time zones.

What we valueDemonstrated experience in Python, PySpark and SQL (AWS Redshift, Postgres, Oracle).Demonstrated experience building data pipelines with PySpark, Databricks and AWS.Strong expertise in AWS Cloud architecture, including EC2, S3, RDS, LAMBDA etc.Application development experience in financial services with hands on designing, developing, and deploying complex applications.Strong leadership skills, analytical problem-solving skills, quick to learn and adapt.Self-motivated, creative problem solver, organized, collaborative with excellent communication skills.Experience working with global development teams across different geographies and time zones.

Education & Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.12+ years of experience required.Relevant certifications i.e., AWS Certified Solutions Architect is a plus.

Additional requirementsExperience in Financial Services, Asset Management functions highly preferred.
