About the Job:

The Technology Support Specialist is part of a work team that provides technology support and project oversight for users at the National Services facilities in Cape Coral and Fort Myers.The major focus of work involves hardware and software installation, technology troubleshooting and problem resolution for IT equipment including, but not limited to, computers, printers, peripherals, and audio-visual equipment.The Technology Support Specialist has frequent interaction with all levels of staff.

Schedule:

M-F 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (Fully onsite) *Job will primarily be onsite at Gulf Coast Village, Cape Coral with occasional visits to The Preserve, Fort Myers.

Communication and Training

Communicates frequently with all level of users at the National Services facilities.Trains, supports and assists users on IT related matters.Trains, supports and assists users in startup, basic and advanced use of software programs including Microsoft Office and other standard programs.May provide group training on request.Provides status and progress reports on projects to supervisor, management and staff.Technical Support

Responds to problems relating to configuration and networks on site or over the phone for users. Investigates error and determines resolution.Installs, configures, maintains and troubleshoots computer workstation hardware, software, peripherals, and audio-visual equipment; performs hardware/software upgrades to existing equipment as needed and determines additional solutions as needed.Acts as primary resource providing expertise in the operation and application of the organization's standard computer software and a working knowledge of a wide variety of commonly used hardware and software.Recording Keeping

Keeps necessary records for equipment repair, maintenance for preventative maintenance.Maintains log of problems, resolutions and dates for all software and hardware.Maintains adequate parts inventory control and adequate resources for computer hardware, peripherals, and audio-visual equipment.Other

Meets departmental and organizational deadlines.Advises supervisor in setting and updating standards for microcomputer softwarePerforms various other activities as required.Provide technical backup to department head as required.Required Qualifications:

Position requires an AA/AS degree in computer related field plus two (2) years relevant experience; a BA/BS degree in computer science or related discipline; or the combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position.Thorough knowledge of the installation, operation and repair of computer hardware, peripherals, and audio-visual equipment is preferred.Ability to troubleshoot, add and replace network cabling.Working knowledge of network switches, access points and firewalls. Familiarity with HP/Aruba network equipment preferred.Must understand installation, configuration and troubleshooting processes for software, hardware, networking, and accessory equipment. Requires experience with personal computer equipment.Must have advanced personal computer word processing, spreadsheet, database (specifically with Microsoft Office) and Microsoft Windows skills.Requires strong focus on providing exceptional customer service and exhibiting a positive attitude in support of organizational goals.Requires the ability to demonstrate computer logic, problem solving skills, and hardware repair ability.Must have strong oral and written communication and training skills and be able to communicate technical information to non-technical users.Must be able to work well with others and as part of a team.Requires the ability to independently perform all of the duties of the position efficiently and effectively.Ability to work flexible hours.Ability to travel between the Cape Coral and Fort Myers locations required.
