With more than 130 years of financial experience and over 22,000 partners, we serve the world’s most sophisticated clients using leading technology and exceptional service.Role Summary:As a Relationship Associate you will provide Northern Trust Asset Management’s (NTAM) capabilities to financial advisors in the Northern Trust Wealth channel positioning FlexShares ETFs, Northern Multi Asset Class Solutions, Northern Funds, Northern SMAs and Northern Alternatives (50 South Capital) in the marketplace.You will be responsible for establishing new relationships in all focus channels, growing and servicing existing client relationships and assisting with procuring new opportunities. You must be able to work effectively and collaboratively with all areas of business within Northern Trust and with financial intermediaries.You will partner with both the Senior Relationship Manager and the Relationship Manager (Hybrid) on a regional team. Typically will serve as the primary contact for service and operational responsibilities for the region.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Work from our Chicago Sales Desk

Support and partner with the Senior RM/BDE and RM / RMS (Hybrid) and serve as a service and operational resource for our clients and prospects

Be an NTAM expert across solutions and capabilities

Serve as the data and business intelligence hub for the regional team

Travel as needed (1x-2x year), but almost solely will work from the sales desk (virtual calls, phone calls and email communication)

Typically, 1+ years of industry and distribution experience

Necessary Skills, Experience and Education:BA/BS degree required

NASD Series 7, 63 and 65 required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire

Ability to develop relationships with professional financial advisors and deliver ideas and information that will generate sales and assets

Ability to travel on occasion

Exceptional verbal, written and sales presentation & communication skills

Display a positive, resilient attitude that is open and willing to implement feedback

Be a “student of the industry” (Capital markets expertise, industry trends, etc.)

High energy, motivated individual, commitment to excellence

Ability to work in a team environment is critical
