As the primary judicial officer, the Director is responsible for administering the community standards process, including serving as the lead conduct officer, organizing student hearings, and referring to campus judicial boards as appropriate. This staff member advises faculty/staff and students on judicial-related matters, tracks judicial cases, and provides quarterly aggregate reports. The Director provides recommendations for updates to the Student Code based upon new/updated policies and practices and implements and oversees the Maxient Software program for SUNY Poly.As the Director of Residential Education, this staff member provides leadership and oversight for community development initiatives and departmental programming efforts. The Director is responsible for the recruitment, selection, and training of student Resident Advisors, developing residential education and programming for the entire residential system, and ensuring consistency of expectations for Resident Advisors, particularly regarding performance and community organizing efforts.Job Description:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS50% of Time - Community Standards:Oversee the Community Standards process.Make recommendations on Code of Conduct revisions and provide training to hearing board members.Serve as software administrator, track cases, and report regularly; manage Maxient Software.Provide community standards student training to the general population, residential life staff, and leadership groups. Represent Residential Life and Community Standards at campus events and presentations as requested.Distribute and supervise conduct cases that are appropriately heard by Residential Life Assistant Directors.Manage student conduct cases including review of all allegations and reports of student misconduct to determine resolution pathway, advising students of their rights and responsibilities, investigating incidents, and facilitating meetings and interventions. Consider campus safety and wellbeing needs, legal requirements, and opportunities for student development. Responsible for an independent conduct caseload.Keeps abreast of current literature and developments in the field of Student Affairs.30% of Time - Residential Education:Coordinates the recruitment and selection of Resident Advisors and plans comprehensive training for them. Issues evaluations of training sessions and uses assessments to develop future trainings.Organizes and leads monthly all staff meetings and develops ongoing training during these meetings.Leads the development, implementation, and assessment of programs and initiatives within the residence halls.20% of Time - Administrative Support of Residential Life:Serves on University and Division of Student Affairs committees and projects. Leads residence hall move-in and move-out processes in collaboration with key stakeholders.Provides leadership and guidance to residential life staff to ensure goals, programs, activities, and personnel practices align with the Institution's goals.Designs and implements operating strategies, plans, and procedures for Residential Life and Community Standards.Completes performance management feedback and goals per requirements.Other reasonable duties as assigned.SALARY$65,000Requirements:MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSApplicants must address in their applications their abilities to work with a culturally diverse population.
