The Media Relations Student Program Assistant offers FIU students opportunities to work in a professional organization for the purpose of gaining supervised practical experience. Students will have the opportunity to utilize, under professional supervision, skills required through normal coursework. It allows the student to observe competent professional models on the job and be provided with evaluative feedback. The Media Relations Student Assistant handles daily office duties such as answering and routing phone calls and requests; compiling and distributing daily news clips featuring Florida International University, as well as news coverage reports; and helping with the logistics of media relations events. The Media Relations Student Assistant also researches and drafts media advisories, press releases, and other communications, as assigned.Job Category

Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.Work Schedule
