Dematic is looking for a Senior Solution Concept Developer to join our Solution Development team in Grand Rapids, MI. This position offers flexibility with options for remote or hybrid work arrangements.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop optimized and complex material handling automation solutions. As the technology expert, you will lead the integration of Dematic and partner solutions, focusing on the design of transportation, storage, and workstation systems for pallets, cases, totes, and units. Your designs will incorporate software, hardware, and control systems and will be communicated through material flow diagrams and 3D design tools.What we offer:Career DevelopmentCompetitive Compensation and BenefitsPay TransparencyGlobal OpportunitiesThe base pay range for this role is $115,000 - $145,000, not including year end bonus.This is What You Will do in This Role:Review requirements inputs from and closely collaborate with Solution Consultants in the solution designCreation of Material Flow(s) for solutions and validate equipment ratesLead and create 3D models (Maestro) and proposal drawingsApply standard subsystems and modules to solutions where appropriateDevelop Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) costingObtain ROM costing approvalsResearch and identify DEMATIC and partner technologies which drive client's successBe THE Expert in assigned Dematic Standard Sub-Systems and ModulesDrive problem-solving efforts for project and process performance using LEAN principlesCommunicate Technological Differentiators to Clients and support presentationsConduct iterative concept reviewsCollaborate with key project & solution team stakeholders by hosting and supporting concept, technical and cost reviewsWhat We are Looking For:Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering5+ years of industrial design experience3+ years of logistics and automation experienceKnowledgeable in Distribution Center operationsHigh Level understanding of material handling technologyProficient in concepting with modern digital toolsLean Certification preferredWillingness to travel 15-25%
