SF Credit Risk Model team are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machine Learning (ML) model development director to lead our advanced modeling and analytics team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and optimization of ML models that drive business insights and innovation across the division. You will also be responsible for building and leading a team of data scientists and engineers with strong quantitative skills from a diverse set of backgrounds, both academically and functionally. Strategy development: collaborate with business users and senior management to define the machine learning strategy aligned with business objectives.
Team leadership: management and mentor a team of machine learning engineers and data scientists. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
Model development: lead the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models and algorithms. Ensure robust model validation, testing and implementation practices.
Research and innovation: stay abreast of the latest advancements in machine learning and AI technologies. Drive research initiatives to explore new algorithms and methodologies to improve model performance.
Cross-functional collaboration: work closely with stakeholders to integrate machine learning algorithms into model and analytics; communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders to explain complex concepts and solutions.
Performance monitoring and optimization: establish metrics and frameworks to monitor the performance and effectiveness of deployed models; implement strategies for continuous model optimization and refinement.

Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience and expertise in financial modeling in investment and capital markets areas.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Python, R, SAS.
Strong Machine Learning experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly written communication skills.
Self‐motivated, with the capability of managing multiple priorities and efficient in proposing solutions.
Typically has 12+ years related experience and 4+ years management experience.
Graduate degree with advanced studies/degree in economics/statistics/mathematics/quantitative finance or related fields preferred.
