At Youth on Course we ensure that all young people, regardless of cost or circumstance, can access the transformative power of the sport. We believe in forging a future where golf is not just a game but an inclusive and accessible experience for every young person. Private funding makes it possible for members to have access to play for $5 or less through subsidies to thousands of courses throughout the United States, Canada and Australia. Members have the opportunity to succeed through Youth on Course programs: DRIVE Club, Careers on Course, Leadership Council and College Scholarships. In addition, Youth on Course recently launched an Alumni Network which extends membership to those 19 and older.Since its inception, in 2006, Youth on Course has grown from serving 50 local children into an international youth membership of more than 230,000. The membership enjoys access to a network of 2,100 golf courses and is supported by a uniquely structured donor base of more than 15,000. The organization seeks a highly motivated and experienced chief executive officer to execute its newly approved five year strategic plan and build out a fundraising apparatus that can sustain the organization.Position:

Chief Executive OfficerPOSITION SUMMARY:The Chief Development Officer (CDO) is responsible for leadership and hands-on management of the organization's development and fundraising efforts. This executive role involves creating and executing strategies to drive revenue growth, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, and ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the organization. The CDO is a member of the organization's leadership team and oversees a staff of four with two additional independent contractors. Additional key relationships integral to the success of the role include: Board of Directors, Chief Marketing Officer, VP Programs, Chief Technology Officer and Head of Strategic Projects. This position receives general guidance and is expected to work collaboratively with other units of YOC to achieve results.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategic Planning : Develops and implements YOC's fundraising strategies, including but not limited to an annual development plan directly tied to the organization's annual and long term goals. Monitors the development department income and expense budget.Fundraising & Revenue Generation : Lead the planning and execution of various fundraising - major gifts, annual funds, special events, etc.), cultivate and maintain donor relationships (directly and through other staff), and oversee planning and execution of national and regional fundraising events. The position will have a high priority in the area of Major GiftsEngagement : Develop strategies around donor engagement and stewardship and ensure the successful implementation of the program by the Development team.Executive Leadership : Participates in discussions with Leadership and Board of Directors about the overall strategy and direction of the organization. Oversee the Development team of 4 full-time staff and 2 consultants (with plans to grow staff in the future), including recruiting/hiring, training and development, goal setting, performance management, etc.Partnerships & Community Relations : Build and maintain key relationships with foundations, community organizations, members of the larger golf community, and other key stakeholders. Represent the organization at public events, networking opportunities, conferences, and other events.Reporting : Provide regular reports on Development activities (plans, progress, and outcomes) to the organization, the Board, and other key stakeholders.Budget : Develop and manage the annual Development budget; monitors the department budget to hit revenue and spending targets; makes changes as needed.Ad-Hoc : Perform all other duties as assigned, including professional development.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in fundraising, development, or related fields, with a proven track record of successful fundraising and donor engagement with an emphasis on Major Gifts.Proven track record of donor data mining, solicitation, cultivation and stewardship.Successful experience closing gifts of $100,000+.Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading a development team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to develop data-driven strategies.Experience with grant writing, donor management systems, and fundraising software.Passionate about the organization’s mission and committed to advancing its goals.High level of integrity and professionalism.Creative and proactive problem solver.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to different situations, strong emotional intelligence, and empathy.Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.Ability to engage with diverse audiences and backgrounds.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s degree and/or CFRE certification.WORK SCHEDULE:Typically Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.Some late nights and weekend work may be required.Travel may be required up to 50% of the time, including driving and air travel.This position is based in Monterey, CA.COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:This is a full-time, Exempt position, with an expected salary in the range of $160,000-$190,000 annually.The benefit package includes health, dental and vision insurance with a large percentage of premiums paid by the employer.
