Job Summary:
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll design, implement, and enhance subsystems for our nanosatellite bus and communications payload. Your role will span electronics, RF, and software engineering, involving schematic and layout design, circuit board assembly, and RF testing. You’ll work with simulation tools, spectrum analyzers, and RF equipment, and participate in component selection and vendor interactions. Core Responsibilities:
Design spacecraft bus and payload hardware (e.g., single-board computers, FPGAs, SoCs, sensors, RF components).
Create and test circuit board schematics, select components, and develop board layouts.
Assemble, test, and debug circuit boards; develop firmware and software.
Produce production-level tests and maintain technical documentation.
Participate in design reviews and perform failure analyses.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers for integration, considering thermal requirements.
Support payload integration, testing, and delivery to launch partners.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
8+ years in circuit board design and development, including RF PCBs.
Proficiency with Altium for schematic capture and PCB layout; circuit simulation with LT Spice or similar.
Hands-on experience with single-board computers, FPGAs, RF components, and antennas.
Skilled with electronic test equipment (e.g., logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).
Experience with Linux systems and space payload hardware/software development
Programming skills in C++, C, Python, MATLAB, or similar.
Familiarity with FPGA programming (VHDL, Verilog) and Altera/Xilinx FPGAs is a plus.
Proficient with Linux, Windows, macOS, and Microsoft Office.
Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in teams.
