Find your future with us.Job SummaryThe Production Engineer develops, qualifies, and implements manufacturing processes and procedures to the build, test and launch of satellites, related subsystems, and components. This position’s internal job code is Manufacturing Engineer. Our team is currently hiring for a Level 3.ResponsibilitiesDevelops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.Reviews designs for manufacturability and production scalability; leading and executing tasks as needed to transition hardware build from low-rate initial production to higher rate production.Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (ABET accreditation required)3+ years’ experience in manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, or test engineering or similar field in Aerospace, Automotive, or Commercial industriesAbility to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals and policies and recommend changes to procedures.Good understanding of IPC-A-600 & IPC-A-610Experience with NASA-STD-8739.1Must have technical problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis complete with sound engineering based corrective actions.Knowledge of manufacturing engineering principles and conceptsPreferred QualificationsMaster’s Degree in an Engineering discipline (ABET accreditation required)Thorough understanding of root cause analysis and related analytical methodology (Five Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa Analysis, 8D, etc.)Understands and utilizes theories, principles, and practices of engineering and project management methods.Aerospace and/or DOD ExperienceBackground in Lean Manufacturing/Process ImprovementExperience in PCB/PCBA ManufacturingExperience with Altium DesignerFamiliarity with IPC-6012, IPC-4101, and IPC-7711C/7721CIPC-A-600 & IPC-A-610 CertificationSalary InformationThe salary information shown below is a general guideline only of what is reasonably expected to be paid for the position.
