Find your future with us.Job SummaryThe Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for identifying, resolving, and eliminating spacecraft and product manufacturing quality issues. You will be a key partner with both design and manufacturing, driving the teams and the hardware to higher levels of reliability. This position will also be responsible for initiating corrective actions with our manufacturing and engineering teams.This position's internal job code is Quality Engineer. Our team is currently hiring for levels 3-5.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and audit inspection and test plans, acceptance criteria, and process/work instructions and proceduresCollaborate with internal teams to drive improvements and address high-impact and repeating non-conformancesProactively develop quality initiative strategies and driving their implementationSupport continuous improvement activities on the production floor, implementing lean principles, including removal of unnecessary processesMonitor the success of products and processes through production ramp-up using a suite of quality and analysis methodsFacilitate root cause analysis and problem resolutionParticipate as required in product development reviews, ensuring compliance that quality requirements are flowed down and metMakes recommendations to company leadership on the implementation of process improvements on assigned program(s) or product areasTravel as necessary to customers and suppliers to control problem areasMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field and 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing or quality engineering role, or 8+ years of direct work experienceKnowledge of mechanical and avionics product manufacturing, assembly, test and inspection processesAbility to read drawings, interpret specifications, and provide technical input to assembly and test proceduresUnderstanding of root cause analysis and corrective action methodologiesIntermediate knowledge of AS9100 quality standardsWorking knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirementsExperience performing and applying statistical analysis methodologiesThis position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in an engineering disciplineWorking knowledge of quality and manufacturing processes and principles in a high volume environmentFamiliarity with J-STD-001/IPC-A-610Demonstrated ability to collaboratively provide technical solutions to problems without sacrificing quality or safetyCurrent TS/SCIBenefits and PerksMillennium Space Systems offers a very competitive benefits package to include medical, dental, vision, and 401k plan.
