Position Overview:The Senior Reimbursement Analyst serves an important role in Mass General Brigham's reimbursement and cost reporting function. This position drives the completion (and subsequent audits) of Medicare cost reports and other similar federal and state government financial filings. This position works closely with a variety of constituents, including company and departmental leaders, financial analysts, and external consultants, to prepare and review data for various cost reports and other governmental filings.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Use the Mass General Brigham values to govern decisions, actions, and behaviors. These values guide how we get our work done: Patients, Affordability, Accountability & Service Commitment, Decisiveness, Innovation & Thoughtful Risk; and how we treat each other: Diversity & Inclusion, Integrity & Respect, Learning, Continuous Improvement & Personal Growth, Teamwork & Collaboration.Assist in the preparation and filing of the Medicare and state cost reports for multiple companies, by working collaboratively with external consultants and gathering, organizing, and evaluating data.Assist in coaching and developing less experienced staff (e.g. Reimbursement Analyst).Provide analytical support for ad hoc projects or analysis that evaluate the various components of government payer reimbursement.Assist in the budgeting and forecasting of net revenue for public payors (e.g. Medicare).Ability to research federal regulations and other government guidance to ensure reporting compliance.Assist in supporting federal and state audit requests.Engage with company and departmental leaders to obtain and review data.Actively engage in process improvement projects.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or Mathematics is required.Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in an accounting, financial analysis, or similar role.Experience in healthcare reimbursement/cost reports or fiscal intermediary role is preferred.Skills/Abilities/Competencies:Strong analytical skills and ability to think critically when solving complex problems.Excellent organizational skills.Interest in government health care payment policy.Demonstrate strong skills with MS Excel and MS Access. Ability to work with large/complex data sets. Basic competency in Word and PowerPoint software.Excellent verbal and written communication skills desired.Thrive in a team environment that values self-motivation, independent thinking, and a strong work ethic.Interest in efficiency, automation, and work process improvement.Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of personnel across many departments in a matrixed organization.Fiscal Responsibility:Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by effectively using Mass General Brigham resources.Working Conditions:This position is currently remote.
