Who we are looking for
We are looking for a strong hands-on Lead Applications Developer to modernize applications and processes in the Portfolio Exposures area at State Street Global Advisors. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Applications Architecture, Design, and Development and be a technical subject matter expert. The candidate should be able to work with various cross-functional teams globally.
As Lead Application Developer, VP you will: Architect, design, develop and support applications Co-ordinate with various cross-functional teams globally including businesses, developers, testers, enterprise architects, and infrastructure teams Provide technical subject matter expertise Lead and mentor junior developers in the team Work in an Agile environment
These skills will help you succeed in this role: Strong in Oracle PL/SQL and Database Design Strong in Java and Web development Experience with Python and Apache Spark Familiarity with Shell scripting and Job Scheduling knowledge is a plus Experience in Cloud Computing specifically AWS is a plus Experience with Continuous Integration and Development (CI/CD) stack Strong interest in working on new technologies and tools Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills Financial services industry experience, especially in asset management, is a plus
Education & Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field is required Minimum 8+ years experience required in software development and maintenance
