Clinical Research Nurse/Coordinator

who coordinates the activities associated with treating patients for clinical trials. Assures accurate documentation is maintained, and all governing regulations are in compliance.This position will be in support of

Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR), West (WRAIR-W)

located at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in the state of Washington. WRAIR-W conducts research and delivers solutions to optimize brain health to increase resilience and mitigate operational stress while maximizing soldier health and performance. Its capabilities include the ability to conduct large, randomized controlled trials to assess the efficacy of interventions, perform validation of screening and assessment measures, deliver training, evaluate behavioral health programs, perform field/training assessments to identify risk factors, as well as conduct health readiness surveillance and research consultation. WRAIR-W conducts research efforts focused on behavioral health and applied psychology in an effort to optimize military performance, improve health and readiness, and mitigate operational stress.The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.Responsibilities

Plays active role in the planning, coordination, and execution of clinical trials and research studies with patient populations.Works closely with principal investigators, research coordinators, and study participants to ensure the successful implementation of clinical research protocols.Coordinate and manage clinical trials, ensuring compliance with study protocols and regulatory requirements.Recruit, screen, and enroll study participants, obtaining informed consent and ensuring participant eligibility.Administer study-related treatments and interventions, including medications, sample collections, and assessments.Monitor participants throughout the study, recording and reporting adverse events and ensuring patient safety.Collect, process, and manage study data and specimens, maintaining accurate and detailed documentation.Educate participants about study procedures, potential risks, and benefits.Collaborate with the research team to ensure the timely completion of study milestones.Stay current with developments in clinical research and participate in ongoing training and professional development.Interviews patients for clinical trials and collects and analyzes data to validate eligibility and patient commitment.May be required to draw blood and obtain other specimens as specified in protocols.May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.Qualifications

Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Nursing required.Minimum of 3-5 years experience required.Clinical research background preferred.Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of complex nursing procedures.Knowledge of federal and local regulations and policies pertinent to research involving human subjects.Excellent interpersonal and computer skills.Ability to communicate effectively and to work with individuals of all levels.US citizenship required.Physical CapabilitiesLifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs.Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.Licenses and CertificationsRN, certification as CCRC or CCRP preferred.Work EnvironmentThis position will take place primarily in a clinical setting.Some HJF employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
