This position works cross departmentally, and aims to reduce Niagara's risk through contracting, document review and by providing legal advice and guidance. This is a full-time exempt position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; however, evening, weekends and limited travel will be required as job duties demand.Essential FunctionsIntake, draft and negotiate legal and commercial terms, conditions, standards and language with minimal supervision.Perform contract review, drafting, negotiation and interpretation to support primarily the internal Sales and Beverage business teams and the legal team's Sales, Beverage and customer-related matters.Legal document development, administration and tracking of key legal provisions.Build strong and positive cross-functional business working relationships with both internal clients and other key stakeholders across the company as well as external third parties, including but not limited to the company's customers.Maintain accurate records and files in matrices and databases to ensure reporting accuracy.Support other general transactional matters and special projects as requested by Associate General Counsel, Sales and Beverage and/or Vice President of Legal Affairs.Misc. legal team-related projects requested on an as-needed basis.Train manufacturing plant personnel and corporate personnel on legal and transactional-related matters, including but not limited to legal document review process, terms and contract-risk related matters.Please note this job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Additionally, the Corporate Counsel - Commercial Contracts is expected to demonstrate:Effective legal and commercial drafting, negotiation, organizational and decision making skills with ability to plan, prioritize and multi-task;Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills;Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, customers and vendors;The position has extensive contact with various levels of both internal and external customers, including but not limited to the company's Sales teams, Beverage Operations teams, Accounting/Finance teams, Compliance and Regulatory Affairs team, Product Development teams, etc.;Ability to review, interpret, comprehend, and, as necessary, rephrase/edit/modify complicated legal and commercial terms and language;Excellent business and legal writing skills;Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) to all levels of the organization, including but not limited to providing presentations in front of large groups;Advanced knowledge of contract law and its application in the purchasing and sale processes.Knowledge of and experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), general food & beverage law and beverage manufacturing a plus;Strong leadership skills;Very detail oriented;Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities;Professional, self-motivated, flexible and able to meet deadlines under a high volume workload in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment with minimal supervision;Strong grammar and spelling;Excellent computer skills in Excel, contracts databases and MS Word. Knowledge of Smartsheet and Oracle a plus;Positive attitude, ethics, and values which support our company's values, team, environment and a healthy, high-performance culture.EducationMinimum Required:

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
