Arvada, Colorado, United StatesJob Type: Full-TimeJob Description: The Children’s Ministry (CM) Director, in partnership with other staff and volunteers, will implement the vision of Christ Community Covenant Church by leading, coordinating, and equipping the Children’s Ministries. The CM Director will lead the ministry by casting vision for their ministry, partnering with families, and working to create opportunities for children to experience the love of Christ in community together. This individual works as a servant leader, a team player and a role model for the CM staff, both paid and volunteer.

Objectives/Purpose:
Develop and implement ministry vision, ministry goals, and curriculum that will disciple our kids to become lifelong followers of Christ
Create discipleship pathways for children & their families
Coordinate, recruit, equip, and support all volunteers to carry out an effective ministry to children & their families
Cast vision for the purpose of Children’s Ministry to the whole church
Collaborate with the Youth Director to develop goals for the transition of children from 5th grade to middle school
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Minimum of 3-5 years experience of serving in a Children’s Ministry
Must have worked in roles that include responsibilities such as: building and leading teams, goal setting, planning, vision casting/communication
Possesses a basic level of Biblical knowledge/understanding and a desire to grow in this area continually
A willingness to work collaboratively with the Youth Director & the NextGen team to ensure these ministries work together to achieve their goals
Detail-oriented individual who demonstrates strong organizational, operational, and leadership skills.
Relational skills that would allow them to connect well with children, students, parents and volunteers
Ability to speak effectively before large groups
Responsibilities
Provide supervision and organization to the overall ministry
Manage recruitment, training (at least once a year) and empowerment of volunteers, and engage in the leadership development of those volunteers and any interns who are part of the ministry
Engage members of the congregation in children’s ministry
Oversee all the Sunday morning activities and support for children including the nursery, childcare, Sunday school, etc.
Production of any holiday children’s programs (Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day)
Create effective communication methods between parents, congregation, pastors, ministry staff, volunteers, and our community
Give direction and offer insight into the curriculum and involve/equip parents in the spiritual development of their children
Conduct or oversee background checks on all volunteers involved with Children’s Ministries
Curate, staff and lead weekly evening programming for children
Develop and lead VBS each summer
Evaluate and maintain current classrooms to be sure they are age-appropriate, safe and regularly cleaned and updated
Work with other staff to meet childcare needs for church activities when needed
Participate in the budgetary process and oversee or manage the children’s ministry expenses
Work in partnership with our Youth Director and NextGen team to design and implement events, ministries, and programs that will help older elementary and younger middle school students make the transition from children’s to youth ministry
