SRE is seeking an Executive Consultant (Climate SME) to support the specific topic areas of extreme heat, drought, wildfire, energy, and resilient infrastructure for climate-related strategy, policy analysis, communication, partnering, knowledge management, change management, meetings, and data analysis.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Provide thought leadership to communicate about, advise on, and advocate for the use of climate science, resilience, sustainability, and analysis of future conditions as inputs into decision-making across all programs and mission areas.Provide subject matter expertise, as a consultant, on extreme heat, drought, wildfire, and energy.Leverage research and the latest literature to inform extreme heat, drought, wildfire, and energy decision-making and products.Provide consulting and advisory support to help the client build partnerships, enhance messaging, implement best practices, and advance climate goals.Provide expertise and insights to inform strategic priorities, develop MOUs/MOAs, and update and implement climate programs and policies.Analyze policy issues, proposals, guidance, and legislative provisions to identify the implications for client operations.Leverage best practices from the public, non-governmental, and private sectors to make recommendations.Translate strategies into actionable plans and develop or provide input into project schedules.Coordinate the development of comprehensive business cases to be presented to senior leadership, Congress, and the Administration.Provide expertise, inputs, and content to develop clear, concise, audience-appropriate, storytelling, and error-free communication products.Provide insights to support organizational change management, including stakeholder engagement, adoption, and communication.Support internal, external, and public engagement, including making recommendations and writing and editing content such as strategic documents, speeches, scripts, talking points, briefing memos, press releases, and case studies.Provide climate mitigation and adaptation technical research and coordination support.Analyze climate and other data and provide inputs and insights to support visualization, reporting, and communication.Provide primary interface with client personnel regarding strategic issues and on project-specific issues.Direct the completion of projects within estimated time frames and budget constraints.Coordinate tasks, review work products for completeness and adherence to client requirements.Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills, including white papers and formal presentations.Deliver presentations and lead client meetings.Demonstrated ability to work independently.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 12 years of experience in related field.Master's Degree and minimum of 6 years of experience in related field.FEMA, NOAA, IPCC, or EPA experience preferred.Familiarity with the Fifth National Climate Assessment, shared socioeconomic pathways, representative concentration pathways, emissions scenarios, and climate change impacts to develop extreme heat, drought, wildfire, and energy strategies.Ability to obtain a public trust clearance.

Skills:

Experienced leader with climate industry experience and/or academic experience.Demonstrated interdisciplinary expertise in and technical knowledge of extreme heat, drought, wildfire, energy, climate mitigation and adaptation, specifically the Fifth National Climate Assessment, shared socioeconomic pathways, representative concentration pathways, emissions scenarios, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project.An understanding of the financial implications of implementing climate resilience measures.Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and synthesize information in the most complex documents.Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries.Must be able to manage competing priorities through prioritization of tasks and activities and set deadlines appropriately.Produce high-quality work and strive to be error-free by focusing on quality assurance. Deliverables must be appropriate, accurate, and meet the customer and contractual requirements.Must possess integrity and be service-focused at all times.Exhibit flexibility and resilience with both client organizations and SRE.Must possess a drive for continual learning and professional growth.Progressive experience in leading and providing technical direction of strategic business projects.Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and direction for multiple projects or sub-tasks and in designing, implementing, and managing business programs.Capability to manage multi-task projects of high complexity and must have demonstrated experience in managing all key project areas.Excellent writing skills.SRE and Client mission-oriented.A process and solutions-oriented individual.Must have experience and be an expert with PCs, MS Office, Adobe, Google Mail, Citrix ShareFile (or other online platforms), and online meeting platforms such as Google Meet and Zoom.

Work Environment:

This position is open to candidates nationwide and is remote with site work as required by customer.

Compensation:

The estimated salary range for this position is estimated to be $90,000 - $200,000/year. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. SRE considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. Additionally, SRE adheres to all state and federal requirements regarding salary to ensure compliance with applicable labor laws. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of SRE's total compensation package for employees.
