The Disability Determination Services Administration is seeking a Medical Records Review Consultant that can skillfully incorporate the goals of the company as a Medical Records Review Consultant. This position will review case files prepared by the Disability Evaluators to determine if a claim meets the medical definition of a disability as outlined by the Social Security Administration.

Job Duties:Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

The Medical Consultant, in conjunction with the disability evaluator, evaluates medical evidence to determine sufficient documentation, severity of impairments, and provides an assessment of the applicant's disability.

The Social Security Administration requires that a health care professional sign off on all claims.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):Knowledge of:

Physician or Psychologist, the candidate would need to be well versed in the program’s evidentiary requirements.

Skill in:

Diagnosis of Physical and/or mental and the practice of medicine.

Understanding computer programs as they relate to the disability program.

Analyzing medical evidence and applying administrative policy to make accurate decisions.

The presentation of training and policy issues.

Ability to:

Establish effective working relations with others.

Speak and write effectively.

Resolve differences of opinions using facts and logic.

Write conclusions and policy questions clearly and concisely.

Selective Preference(s):The ideal candidate for this position will have:

Must be a licensed Physician (M.D. or D.O.), licensed Psychologist, or licensed Speech Language Pathologist, in good standing in the state of Arizona.

Retirement:State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
