The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) reports to the Medical Center President (or designee) and is the HMH administrative leader responsible for planning, organizing and directing the daily clinical activities of the medical staff and advanced practice providers. The CMO oversees improvement of all aspects of clinical quality and performance improvement. The CMO serves as the key administrative liaison to the medical staff and advocates on their behalf. S/he works collaboratively with department chairs, medical school leadership and faculty, hospital administration, and nursing leaders to drive the organization to higher levels of performance and innovation.Minimum Requirements
Medical Degree (MD)At least 10 years management experience in managing a clinical department or divisionPrior experience as a Department/Division Chief/ChairStrong leadership skillsStrong financial management skillsStrong strategic planning skillsMust possess the ability to deal tactfully with colleagues, Board of Governors, team members, residents, family members, visitors and the general public and possess an understanding of people and a sense of accountability, fairness and consistencyExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred
Management certification or Master’s degree that includes training in finance, communication, marketing, quality and patient safety, informatics, leadership and negotiationsLicenses and Certifications Required
Medical Doctor licenseDrug Enforcement Agency CertificateControlled Dangerous Substances Physician CertificationMD degree from accredited medical school licensed to practice in NJ. Board certified MD in an ABMS approved specialty
