About the internship:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to support Greenwood Service Operations in a repair shop environment with two key assignments to be delivered during the Summer 2025.

As part of the intern program, you will:

Assignment 1:

Develop and create a metric around our OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) of our factory equipmentCreate and develop a measurement that factors in our Availability, Performance, and Quality of machinesCollect and document accurate maintenance data and downtime information on all equipmentUtilize the standard templates and apply Industrial Engineering principlesCollaborate with both shop floor employees and management to collect accurate information and achieve the best results in these areasFollows all safety policies and company-wide safety requirements; encourages action assuring safe behavior; confronts unsafe behavior and conditions proactively and positively.Complies with all company policies and procedures.Conducts themselves in a considerate, professional, cooperative and helpful manner toward fellow employees, customers, vendors and visitorsThis assignment will allow you to learn more about mechanical engineering to challenging real life applications. In addition, you will learn about the safety, quality, delivery, and costs of manual machines.Assignment 2:

This is more a tactical assignment where you will be:

Support the team to develop Standard Times measurements for the product repairCollect time data for key manufacturing processes like machining, welding, painting etc. by using the standard templates and applying Industrial Engineering principlesCollaborate with shop employees and management to perform data analysis and participate into benchmarking exercises for the said processesFollows all safety policies and company-wide safety requirements; encourages action assuring safe behavior; confronts unsafe behavior and conditions proactively and positively.Complies with all company policies and procedures.Conducts themselves in a considerate, professional, cooperative and helpful manner toward fellow employees, customers, vendors and visitorsThis assignment will allow you to learn more about Capacity Vs Load in the factory and how standard times can play a very important role into that.What you know:

This role requires a student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree program (other relevant engineering fields will also be considered).

This program is designed for students that have finished their sophomore or junior yearA GPA minimum of 2.5Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (including Word, Excel, Visio & PowerPoint).Ability to work up to 40 hours per week.Strong team collaboration and interpersonal communication skills required, to include verbal and written skills.Candidate must be adept at taking direction, work well within cross-functional teams, be curious to learn, and be customer focused. Safe work practices, proper ethics, and attention to detail are required.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within a team environment.
