POSITION:

Lead Investigator

RESPONSIBILITIES:Operate under the direction/supervision of the Regional Field Manager (RFM) and Regional Operations Manager (ROM).Conduct field investigations as needed by maintaining a specified lead load while meeting and/or exceeding required performance metrics.Assist in coaching and training new Employee Investigators (EIs) as directed by the RFM and ROM.Coach EIs who are having difficulty meeting their required metrics (ie: quality, timeliness, and productivity).Conduct periodic check-rides of all EIs assigned in their area of responsibility.Be available to answer case specific coverage and investigative questions EIs may have.Resource for directing EIs to the proper contacts for IT, Security, Cell phone, IRMA, and Deltek issues and following up to make sure issues have been resolved.Communicate with EIs to gather information on their caseload and assist with managing assignments to maximize Investigator efficiency.Notify the RFM or ROM if there are any issues concerning the quality, production, or timeliness of EIs.Assist with monitoring any past due cases or corrective leads that their team member may have assigned.Provide back up support for the RFM or ROM when they are not available.Re-communicate important policies and initiatives as requested by RFM or ROM.Establish and maintain a good professional relationship to further the organization success and national security mission.Uses multiple facets of communication to engage and interact with EIs.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:U.S. Citizenship;Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred;Experience conducting one-on-one subject interviews;Thorough understanding of and experience with the Personnel Security Investigations process and the Federal Investigative Standards (FIS) requirements and adjudication process.Must have thorough knowledge of all aspects of the background investigations process;Track record of favorable performance meeting quality, timeliness, and production standards as an Investigator conducting national security background investigations;Prior experience as a Team Lead, Trainer, or Field Operations Supervisor is desirable but not required;Strong organizational skills as demonstrated by ability to manage a caseload and complete all administrative tasks in a timely manner;Ability to control sensitive information;Reliable personal vehicle, valid driver's license, and satisfactory driving record;Willing to travel on temporary duty assignments as needed (by car or plane);Successfully pass background checks and all required training;Current (within the last 2 years) Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) or active Secret level security clearance based on an SSBI and able to obtain the required security clearance.Must be local to the DMV area.WORKING CONDITIONS:Travel may be required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.
