OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE DEPLOYMENT LEAD
The Operational Excellence Deployment Lead focuses the long-term Lean transformation strategy for McGough, supporting the strategic priorities of McGough by working with teams to turn improvement ideas into reality, building and strengthening our Lean culture, and supporting the enterprise commitment to the creation, deployment and ongoing improvement of standard work. In addition, the Advisor is part of a core team charged with the facilitation of McGough’s business and budget planning process and supporting the execution of business plans throughout the year.
Qualifications:
Required:
5+ years implementing lean and cultural change in organizations, experience from any industry
4-year degree or similar experience
Applied and coached A3 Thinking and PDCA/PDSA
Used, created, and maintained standard work or a standard work system
Used and coached frontline improvement and idea generation
Facilitated groups through process mapping and process improvement events
Establish trust and engage leaders & team members quickly
Coached high-level and/or executive level leaders
Worked with or collaborated with office functions to improve efficiency
Experience teaching short classes or workshops (1-3 hours)
Preferred:
Lean Bronze Certification or similar by a recognized organization
Knowledge of the Shingo Model
Used and coached strategy deployment/hoshin
Used and coached Tiered Huddles
Used, facilitated, and coached value streams
TWI certified 10-hour trainer
Worked in or with matrixed organizational structure
Facilitated improvement events (Kaizen events, rapid improvement events, or similar)
Non-manufacturing experience with lean
Skills:
Coaching teams and leaders
Facilitating groups
Independent and reliable, yet works collaboratively
Able to communicate effectively – listening, written, and verbal formats
Develops others for the betterment of the person and the company
Microsoft Suite, including Teams and Visio
Willing to learn new skills with an open mind

Office:
Primary location is McGough Corporate Headquarters Building or one of McGough’s Offices, able to negotiate a hybrid schedule.
Travel:
Local, Regional and National offices and jobsites visits may be necessary; overnight travel will be required.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Contribute towards the company’s lean transformation strategy in partnership with leaders
Own standard work system to maintain consistency and use throughout the organization while assessing for improvement
Help develop and coach leaders with tiered management huddles
Coach frontline huddles and idea generation
Demonstrate and coach A3 thinking and problem solving, including current state analysis, root causing and some data analysis
Facilitate Rapid Improvement events and value stream analysis
Actively work with leaders and teams to create a continuous improvement culture
Assist in coaching strategy deployment teams
Collaborate with teams and Learning & Development department on Op Ex related trainings
Help integrate Lean principles and practices into existing and new processes across the company aimed to improve business performance.
Be an objective thought partner for leaders
Actively identify solutions to help drive accountability and progress in the implementation of business plans
Learn about construction processes and integrate lean and operational excellence methodologies with the Last Planner System

Position involves sitting for extended periods of time at employee’s work station and during meetings as well as while traveling, either by plane or car. Occasionally, employee will be required to visit construction jobsites which may expose the employee to dirt, dust, uneven surfaces, outdoor weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
