Admissions Counselor

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Admissions, the Undergraduate Admissions Counselor is responsible for the management of a designated caseload of prospective students. The primary goal of Counselor is moving prospective students through the admission process for the Undergraduate School to achieve the MBI enrollment goals for all academic programs and venues.

Essential Functions

Exercises discretion and independent judgment in planning and implementing a strategy for management of assigned students to meet recruitment goals. Fully responsible for results in assigned territory.Advises prospective students and parents regarding the college search process, all aspects of college life.Maintains timely and consistent contact with applicants in his or her territory and other applicants as assigned, from initial submission through matriculation.Responsible for the timely operation of the follow-up process for incomplete files through phone, email, and in person.Participates in calling and email campaigns as assigned.Accountable for keeping the CRM system up to date by reporting activities and results achieved with each student assigned.Travels to college fairs, conferences, churches, high schools and other events or locations for the purpose of identifying and cultivating quality candidates for enrollment. Responsible for making trip arrangements and sending pre-trip/conference mailings.Develops professional relationships with key personnel of selected high schools for the purpose of identifying and cultivating quality candidates for Moody’s undergraduate programs.Communicates with contact persons in churches (i.e. student ministry leaders, pastors, etc.) to provide for appropriate involvement with church student programming, become a resource for the church, and identify potential applicants through direct contact.Assists in the on-campus activities of campus visitors, Experience Moody, and other related events.Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Admissions.

Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s degreeExperience in admissions, sales, marketing, or a related fieldOrganizational skills, planning, self-motivation, accountability, delegation, and evaluationA working knowledge of computer softwareExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Affinity and enthusiastic commitment to the mission of Moody Bible Institute.

Preferred RequirementsExperience with an integrated databaseA working knowledge of admission software

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

This is a full-time, onsite position. While the employee is regularly expected to be onsite, they may be allowed to work one day a week remotely, dependent upon the needs of the office and the discretion of the office leadership team. Some weekends and evenings are expected.

Moderate statewide travel is expected for this position.
