The Admissions Counselor is responsible for the promotion of Lee University to actively recruit and communicate with prospective students and their families. This is a full-time, hourly, twelve-month position, and the individual must be able and willing to work special events and participate in recruitment travel which will include some evenings and weekends. This position will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Undergraduate Admissions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The specific job functions of this position may include but are not limited to the following:
Develop and maintain relationships with prospective students to encourage them to apply and enroll at Lee University
Utilize existing CRM software to conduct daily student recruiting activities (including inside/outside sales, inbound & outbound calls/emails/letters)
Conduct campus tour interviews and follow-up with personal notes and/or letters
Monitor contact numbers, application numbers, and daily activities to meet monthly enrollment goals
Assist with special events such as registration, Homecoming, Lee Day, LeeU Preview, and assigned weeknights to call prospects
Travel for recruitment events including college fairs, high school visits, church visits, Winterfests, and LinkUps to represent Lee University
Work in a positive and effective manner to support the mission of Lee University Admissions
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Undergraduate Admissions
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to provide excellent customer service through both verbal and written communication
Must be multi-task oriented and willing to handle multiple projects at once
Possess strong organizational and people skills
Maintain professional image and a strong work ethic
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and can learn other required programs such as Colleague and TargetX
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required
Preference will be given to Lee University graduates
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Estimated amount of each day spent:
Sitting 85%
Walking 10%
Standing 5%
While performing the duties of this position, an Admissions Counselor will spend most of their time sitting at their desks or meeting with prospective students. However, throughout the day there may be occasions when it would be necessary to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, kneel, or bend. During special events such as LeeU Preview, Lee Day, registration, college fairs, church visits, and other recruitment activities the position may require extended time standing. The Admissions Counselor must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
This position requires the individual to drive to recruitment events locally and across the United States, and they must have a valid license to operate a motor vehicle.
