Job Title: Registered Nurse - Float Pool Job Specialty: ICU Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights - Float Team Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience License: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification, ACLS or PALS depending on float area, NIHSS depending on float area Must-Have: ADN or ASN from an accredited school of Nursing Job Description: - Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.- Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process.- Participate in identifying and meeting personal and professional learning needs.- Attend education programs based on identified learning needs.- Utilize patient education materials pertinent to patient population.- Assess readiness and developmental level of patients and factors affecting their ability to learn.- Assess and anticipate discharge needs of patients and families.- Collaborate with patients and families to prepare or update care plans.- Implement care plans, demonstrating competence in caring for patients with complex problems including appropriate physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects.- Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required.- Utilize healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies, and procedures in care delivery.- Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs.- Consult with appropriate resources for patients with complex care issues or high-risk discharge planning.- Participate in development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities.- Provide feedback to coworkers and facilitate intra/interdepartmental collaboration.- Promote a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.- Develop professional growth goals and achieve them within identified timeframes.- Promote cost-effective care and communicate effectively to ensure continuity of care.- Administer care and carry out responsibilities following public policy and regulatory guidelines affecting the healthcare environment.
