Job Title: Clinical Nurse Job Specialty: Float Pool Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights, 3x12 Hour Shifts Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours Per Week Experience: One (1) year of nursing experience preferred License: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification - May require Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) depending on the float area - May require National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification depending on the float area Must-Have: Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited school Job Description: - Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.- Participate in identifying and meeting personal learning needs.- Attend educational programs based on identified learning needs.- Use relevant patient education materials.- Assess readiness to learn and developmental level of patient/family/caregivers.- Identify expected patient outcomes and revise care plans as needed.- Engage with interdisciplinary team members in the evaluation of patient care.- Communicate pertinent information for continuity of care.- Demonstrate competence in managing patients with complex needs, encompassing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects.- Perform bedside point-of-care testing as needed.- Utilize healthcare organization standards and policies in care delivery.- Organize and prioritize care according to patient/family needs.- Consult appropriate resources for patients with complex care issues.- Develop goals to foster professional growth and achieve them within set timeframes.- Participate in the development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities.- Maintain effective communication within interdepartmental teams.- Promote cost-effective care practices.- Recognize data from complex situations to prioritize care.- Collaborate with patients/families to prepare or update care plans.- Utilize available multidisciplinary resources in planning care.- Address cultural and ethnic issues when planning patient care.- Demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks for patients with complex issues.- Engage in reading current journals and bring ideas to staff for practice applicability discussions.
