In this hybrid role, we are looking for a person who would enjoy the variety of working in the warehouse and driving/delivering. The split is about 60% warehouse work and 40% driving.
This position is Monday - Friday, first shift hours.
Drive gasoline or diesel-powered trucks to transport and deliver products, finished goods, or raw materials to external or internal customers. Simoniz Drivers must provide excellent customer service and are expected to accommodate customer delivery requests. This position requires frequent customer interaction and includes speaking directly with customers and their personnel.
Warehouse Associate Responsibilities
Unload and load trucksForklift certifications are a plusMove inventory to various locations manually and by operating mechanical equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies.Verify the accuracy of incoming shipments and record discrepancies or damage.Pick finished goods and merchandise according to the shipping scheduleUse UPS/FedEx software as neededUse barcode scanners, related computers, and softwareOperate packaging equipment such as shrink wrappers, etc.Maintain computerized inventory records, take physical inventory counts periodically, and check against inventory control totals using the computer.General facility housekeeping tasks.Other duties as assignedRequirements
Driver Requirements/Responsibilities
CDL Class B license with HazMat endorsementUnderstand and comply with all DOT rules and regulations involving commercial motor vehicle operators.Experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing preferredBasic math skillsAbility to handle difficult customer situations and respond to requests for serviceAbility to read Bills of Lading with delivery instructionsMake deliveries on time and inform the manager of changes in the delivery scheduleUse GPS and Cell PhoneDeliver and unload finished goods or raw materials to Simoniz customer locations, production warehouse facilities, or other specified locationInspect the truck for defects before and after trips and submit a report indicating the truck's condition.Maintain driver log according to IC regulationsLoad empty drums from the customer location onto truckMove 500 pounds of packaged product using a manual drum dolly or electric pallet jackOther duties as assignedWork Environment
Sitting and driving for long hours inside a truckExposure to wet or humid conditions and possible extreme heat or cold based on weather conditionsThe delivery area may be close to moving machinery or equipmentWork near moving mechanical partsExposure to fumes or airborne particlesMay handle containers of caustic or acidic chemicals after appropriate training and with appropriate PPEModerate noise level from forklifts and other equipmentPhysical Demands:
