foran immediate contract engagement with our government client.

Work Location: This position is hybrid (75% onsite).

Job Description :

The Data Governance Analyst is responsible for managing and processing data and public records requests, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and supporting the agency's data governance initiatives. This role involves coordinating with various departments, overseeing Microsoft Purview implementation, and contributing to data policy development and system improvements.

Responsibilities :

Processing Data and Public Records Requests:• Request Management:Receive and log incoming data and public records requests from non-media parties, ensuring each request is properly documented and tracked for timely processing.Coordinate with relevant departments to retrieve and compile necessary documents for disclosure, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the information provided.• Legal Review and Compliance:

Assist in the legal review of requested documents, identifying necessary redactions to protect sensitive information before public release.Ensure compliance with legal requirements and agency policies related to public records disclosures.• Response Preparation:

Prepare clear and complete responses to data and public records requests, adhering to established timelines and legal standards.Draft correspondence and documentation to communicate the status and details of requests to stakeholders.• Communication and Follow-Up:

Engage with requesters to clarify their needs, provide updates on processing status, and coordinate the delivery of requested information.Maintain accurate records of all communications and actions taken related to each request.Microsoft Purview Oversight:• Primary Compliance Contact:

Oversee the implementation and management of the agency's Microsoft Purview application, a tool for mapping, managing, and governing data across multiple sources.Manage data types within enterprise Microsoft 365 applications and other platforms, ensuring compliance with public health regulations and data governance standards.• Core Responsibilities:

Data Cataloging:

Organize and index data assets for easy discovery and understanding.Data Classification:

Apply labels and tags to data based on sensitivity and regulatory requirements.Data Lineage:

Track the origins, movements, and transformations of data throughout its lifecycle.Data Insights:

Provide analytical capabilities to derive insights and enhance decision-making.Data Compliance:

Ensure data usage complies with regulatory standards and internal policies.Policy Development and Compliance:• Collaborative Policy Development:

Work with the Director of Data Governance to develop and update policies, SOPs, and guidelines related to data management and governance.Ensure that policies are aligned with federal and state data laws, regulations (such as HIPAA), and organizational goals.• Training and Advocacy:

Develop training materials and conduct sessions to educate agency staff on data governance policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Promote a culture of compliance and data stewardship across the organization.Data Management and Systems Development:• System Design and Improvement:

Collaborate with the Director of Data Governance in developing and enhancing data management applications and systems to improve the agency's data capabilities for public health purposes.• Project Support:

Provide support for projects funded under the CDC Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG), particularly those under Strategy A3: Data Modernization. This includes cataloging agency data resources, improving external data request processes, and assisting in project timeline creation and execution.Assist in collecting, organizing, and leveraging large datasets across various subject matters to enhance data utilization and analysis through data lakes, warehouses, and other tools.Required Skills:

Technical Proficiency:

Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and Adobe tools.Available Benefits:
