Regular Shifts are $21.42/hour, Overnight Shifts will be $23.12

*This position could consist of several shifts, the base pay will be $21.42. When scheduled for an overnight shift from 11pm - 7:30am, the pay will be$23.12/hour

Are you interested in making a difference in the lives of Asylum seekers, are you looking for a part time job with flexible hours? We are looking for an On-CallLogistics Support Specialist, this means you can work anywhere from 0 hours to 20 hours a week, and will be called when support is needed.

Jewish Family Service provides robust immigration legal services in addition to humanitarian and respite shelter for asylum seekers who have been released into the United States by the Department of Homeland Security. In partnership with the San Diego Rapid Response Network, JFS continue to provide case management, travel assistance, nutrition services, medical screenings, and financial support for migrant families.

Are you organized? Do you like to plan for efficiency in fast-paced environments? Put your skills to work as a Logistics Specialist! You will collaborate across multiple shelter program areas. Key responsibilities include management of supplies, ensuring that basic needs supplies are provided to shelter guests in a timely fashion, and safely transporting guests to travel hubs/appointments. Most of the work is carried out across shelter locations and travel hubs. This position will require an understanding of complex aspects of the operations and to be able to communicate to staff, volunteers, and guests in a clear and succinct way. They will assist staff/volunteers with providing other supportive services. If you enjoy keeping things on track and working with a variety of people, you will excel in this role!

Responsibilities

:

Receive and welcome guests at shelter locationsFollows prescribed procedures for safe meal and snack serviceServes food items to guests, in accordance with specific instructionsEnsure shelter guests have all documents required for program exit and onward travelSafely transport and guide shelter guests to/from partner organization, shelter locations, off-site appointments, and travel hubsOrganize and distribute inventory as appropriate for operational needsAssist with physical inventory of specific shelter itemsReport supplies/donations needed for the operation to Logistics Support Specialist LeadInteract with guests to support welcoming environment, and direct questions and requests to the appropriate team memberWork in an environment that is fast paced, completing multiple tasks efficiently, safely while meeting stringent timelinesHandle requests in a timely and efficient mannerCommunicate clearly, effectively, and professionally with others, verbally and in writingWork within the client databasePerform administrative duties in support of an assigned area of responsibilityMaintain that guests follow all health and safety protocols including COVID protocols, including cleaning/sanitizing of vehicles and all shelter spacesMaintain a safe and clean space; indoors and outdoorsAssist with ensuring guests have sufficient basic needs for their onward travelSupport guests with laundry services when need arisesWork closely with volunteers and provide support to shelter volunteers on tasks including preparing and delivering snacks, guiding guests to their onward travel, and supporting with other shelter needsComplete trainings as requiredMaintain a clean and tidy environment at all shelter locations, assist with cleaning and sanitizing the buildingAssist in implementing infection control protocol as necessarySupport at all shelter locations as operationally necessaryParticipate in required trainingPerforms other duties as assignedSkills/Abilities That Are a Must-Have:
