Schedule: 36 hours, days/evenings; 3 x 12 hour shifts. On-call requirements.

The Certified Surgical Technologist is an Integral member of Surgical Team. Primary responsibilities include:

Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.Function as a scrub person during operative and other invasive procedures by:

assembling supplies, equipment and instrumentation required for the procedureperforming counting procedures in concert with the RN circulatorassisting with placement of sterile drapesproviding instruments and supplies to the surgical team during the proceduremaintaining an organized sterile fieldensuring sterility of the field and taking corrective actions as neededpreparing sterile dressings

Clean and prepare surgical instruments for processing and transport them to the decontamination areas.Assist with post-procedure cleaning of the operative room and preparation of room for subsequent patients.Participate in ongoing educational and competency activities.Precept staff to the surgical technician job duties, including surgical technicians, nurses and students.Maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.Surgical Technician Certification required.Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.1 year of Surgical Technician experience preferred.Must present and submit Certification of Graduation, as follows:ARC/STSA-Accredited Surgical Technology ProgramNBSTSA- Certification is conferred by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical AssistingStaff adheres to all I.C.A.R.E. Standards.Basic computer skills.
