Summary:
Cleveland Construction is seeking an Estimator to support to the estimating team/the Pre-Construction Department in Mentor, OH.
This is an entry-level position. We are willing to train someone who has a strong interest/passion for getting into construction estimation or candidates who may have already gotten 0-2 years of experience at other companies, internships, co-ops, etc..
Job Responsibilities:Perform thorough document reviews, including geotechnical reports, phase I & II reports, hazardous material, schematics, design development & construction drawings, specifications, etc.Develop project specific estimates, general conditions, etc.Perform detailed quantity takeoffsDevelop project specific scopes of work to be distributed to bidding subcontractorsDevelop project specific qualifications to be submitted to the Owner with RFP responses or BidsSkills/Knowledge:
Ability to work cross functionally with departments and team membersEfficiently work while also capturing main scope of workExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to assess risk on a variety of project scopes and geographic locationsComputer / Technology:
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)On-Screen Takeoff software preferredAptitude in learning new computer systemsEducation / Experience:
A four (4) year degree in Construction Management, Civil, Business or Finance preferred1-2 years of commercial construction, estimating experience preferredWillingness to learn and grow within the role, company and industry, passion for estimating/commercial constructionCollege coursework or internship with estimating focusPhysical Demands / Working Conditions
Sitting for long periods of timeCompleting tasks using a computer and other office equipmentPosition requires frequent talking, hearing, and vision with occasional standing, walking and reachingJob position responsibilities are performed in a business office environment with computers, printers and phones
