Quality Assurance Test Lead II
will contribute to the successful implementation and support of application systems and infrastructure of Fred Hutch. The position will coach and provide consultation to project teams in testing tools, strategies, methodologies, and processes. While leading mid-level to complex projects through the testing life cycle, will work closely with users, stakeholders, and project teams to analyze business processes and data, develop user requirements and functional specifications, plan and lead all phases of testing, and assist business stakeholders and project teams to deliver on time and high-quality applications and systems. Testing functions will be performed in collaboration with the project team, business partners, end-users, applications, and operations support staff as leader of a cross functional test team for the project assigned. Working relationships must be established and productively maintained with department managers and senior department leaders in key customer groups at Fred Hutch. The emphasis of this position is to provide leadership to integrate ITS testing standards and methodologies into the project life cycle with a good understanding of the application and infrastructure to deliver high quality solutions to meet business and clinical needs.At Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, all employees are expected to demonstrate a commitment to our values of collaboration, compassion, determination, excellence, innovation, integrity, and respect.Responsibilities:Lead Testing Activities:Communicate test plans and strategy to test personnel effectively.Work with project manager to identify testing resources.Schedule and plan testing activities.Work with operations staff to set up and coordinate test environment.Consult with the project manager and the planning team to develop an estimate of the duration and effort for the testing phase Maintain and communicate test schedule to test personnel.Coordinate user acceptance testing.Ensure that the responsible parties update test conditions and scripts to maintain quality and accuracy.Develop Test Plan and Strategy:Develop an understanding of the testing requirements for each evolution by meeting with the project team and stakeholders and attend regular project meetings.Review project documentation with a focus on testing.Develop test plans and test strategy with input from project team; testing types will include, but not limited to, functional testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing, and regression testing.Lead the project team to define and document testing entrance and exit criteria.Review traceability matrix to ensure testing efficiency and code coverage.Provide Testing Consultation and Lead Process Improvement Effort:Provide project teams with coaching and consulting services in test tool, strategy, methodology, and process.Work closely with QA Testing and Release Management Manager and team members to ensure continuous improvement of the testing methodologies and processes; implement appropriate measurements and metrics.Participate in post-implementation reviews and document testing process lessons learned after major releases.Contribute to QA standards and other Quality Management process improvement effort.Promote best QA practices.Enforce QA Testing Standards:Maintain standards for testing of the applications currently in operation to include, but not limited to, validation testing and regression testing.Train application team members, project managers, project team members and stakeholders on test tools, test templates, testing methodology and standards.Review existing methodologies and modify as appropriate to keep up with industry best practice.Support the use of standard testing tools.Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum 3 years of experience serving in a mid-level to large-scale application test lead role, and testing experience within a vendor-packaged software environment.Experience in testing consulting, coaching, and mentoring.Experience developing, documenting, and maintaining test processes, standards, templates, and guidelines.Experience working with one or more test management tools.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Healthcare application experience.Experience in test planning for features/systems.Well organized with high attention to detail.Familiar with Continuous Quality Improvement.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Project Management.A statement describing your commitment and contributions toward greater diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism in your career or that will be made through your work at Fred Hutch is requested of all finalists.
The annual base salary range for this position is from $88,670 to $132,974, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
