Job Description

Homans Associates (HA) is a subsidiary of the largest independent HVAC/R distribution company in the world, Watsco, Inc. We proudly distribute the Mitsubishi Electric brand of HVAC equipment, as well as a full line of HVAC residential and commercial parts, supplies, and accessories. We have locations throughout New England, New York, and New Jersey. We currently have an opening for a Learning and Development Specialist in Wilmington MA. This position will report to the VP of HR. There is no relocation assistance offered for this position.

We seek a highly organized and experienced Learning and Development Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will create, implement, and manage training programs for our leadership team and associates using our Learning Management System (LMS). Your work will be essential in enhancing the knowledge and skills of our employees, contributing to Homans Associates' overall success. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE Learning and Development Specialist:

Utilize the LMS to develop and implement training programs that align with the company's goals and objectivesTravel to Homans Associates branches to conduct regular training sessions. Expect up to 25% travel time during the workweek.Identify organizational training needs and gaps through job analysis, career paths, and manager consultation.Collaborate with the VP of HR to create and manage the training budget.Develop training materials, including participant guides, handouts, and instructional videos, by leveraging internal subject member experts and external resources.Organize and schedule training sessions, workshops, and other educational initiatives and communicate them to the organization.Assess the effectiveness of training programs and instructors and recommend enhancing, scaling, and sustaining them.Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in training, development, and the HVACR industry.Work with various departments, stakeholders, and external resources to ensure training programs meet organizational needs and drive performance.Maintain a comprehensive database of all training materials and employee progress through centralizing all content.Manage logistics for training activities, including venues and equipment, within the established budget.Perform other duties as assigned.About Us

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST:

Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Education, or 3-5 years of related experienceProven experience as a Training Coordinator, Trainer, Training Facilitator, Learning and Development Specialist or similar role in the distribution industry.Solid understanding of instructional design theory and implementation.Proficiency in MS Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS).Excellent communication and leadership skills.Strong ability to plan, multi-task, and manage time effectively.Strong report writing and record-keeping ability.Strong computer and database skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to think critically.
