Position Summary:

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for coordinating PRCC's volunteer workforce, through recruitment, retention, training, evaluation, and recognition. The Volunteer Coordinator manages data of volunteer hours and activities, ensuring accurate, organized written and electronic records. The volunteer coordinator works closely with the Peer Support Supervisor to ensure necessary volunteer resources and coordinate coverage. Collaborates with local recovery-oriented organizations to build relationships and create ongoing volunteer experiences for people in recovery.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve as a recovery ambassador, promoting the message and mission of PRCCRecruit, motivate, manage, retain and recognize PRCC volunteersCreate meaningful opportunities for volunteers to learn new skills and use existing ones to contribute to PRCC's missionFacilitate weekly volunteer orientation and communicate with individuals interested in the volunteer programCreate and facilitate training program for volunteers including implementation of training videos and certificates of trainingProvide consistent training for volunteers, including but not limited to: telephone recovery support, front desk/kiosk, new member welcoming, cleaning, and special eventsCommunicate scheduling needs directly with volunteers to ensure proper coverageCollect and input data of volunteer hours and activities, ensuring accurate written and electronic records in Recovery Link for the Program ManagerCollaborate with local recovery residences and other recovery-oriented organizations to develop shared activities, volunteer opportunities, and connections with PRCCPlan and coordinate volunteer recognition eventsAssist Program Manager with special projects including but not limited to, Rally 4 Recovery, Committees, Events and YPR Portland ChapterOther duties as assignedReports to: Program Manager

Supervises: No Direct Reports

Strongly supportive of PRCC's mission and ability to motivate and encourage othersEnthusiastic, extremely well organized and passionate about working closely with people in recoveryClear and positive communication ability and ability to foster cooperation and teamworkSelf-motivated and takes initiative to accomplish goals and responsibilitiesExperience providing orientations/training sessionsExperience with organizing events and event managementKnowledge about the recovery movement and recovery support servicesStrong facilitation and training skillsOne year community volunteer management experience, or comparable experienceLived experience with one year or more of personal recoveryBachelor's degree preferred, but not requiredBenefits:

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm with flexibility for occasional evenings and weekends.
