We are seeking a Senior Developer Advocate (Iceberg & Open Source) to join our team at Snowflake, the AI data cloud platform that is easy to use, instantly elastic and lowers your data total cost of ownership. As a Senior Developer Advocate, you will have a leading role in building and growing the developer community around Snowflake's data engineering solutions, with an emphasis on the Iceberg ecosystem and the Apache Polaris catalog. You will develop authentic and compelling developer content programs that showcase the best of Snowflake's data engineering workloads, and become the voice of end users and open source contributors within the company. Expect to stretch your technical toolbelt by building a variety of demos, code samples, how-tos, blog posts and/or videos covering the latest innovations in key data engineering jobs to be done, while showcasing devops best practices. Show off your work at industry leading data and open source events, and deliver effective feedback on improving the product. Your success in this role will result in growing awareness of Snowflake's investments in open data table standards, increased adoption of Iceberg table format usage within the customer base, and a wider range of community contributions to Apache Polaris and related Snowflake open source initiatives. RESPONSIBILITIES : Leverage your understanding of key data engineering use cases to build awareness and motivate developers to build solutions on top of the Snowflake platform Develop and maintain resources for developers, such as open source demos and software tools, code samples, documentation, how-to guides, and tutorials Engage communities across GitHub, Discourse, Reddit, X and LinkedIn to gather feedback and channel this feedback towards new and effective resources, programs or product feedback Participate in the Iceberg and related developer data ecosystem and communities, building strong relationships with engineers, architects, product managers, and founders Define and own metrics to measure the success of our developer content and outreach efforts and initiatives Travel to speak at conferences and other community events QUALIFICATIONS : Experience and passion working with open source communities to drive developer adoption, fuel contributor momentum. Prior experience working with open source foundations a plus (e.g. ASF, CNCF, LF, NumFocus etc.) A background in developer relations, technical writing, software engineering or related role Passion for data management paradigms, a comfortable understanding of the components of the modern data stack (datalakehouses, semantic layers, ELT, reverse ETL etc.), developer tools and best practices (such as version control, CI/CD, containers, data streaming etc.) and data platforms (Snowflake, AWS, GCP, Azure) Experience in writing code sample projects, demos, or tutorials in Python and SQL at minimum Experience working within cross-functional teams (product management, marketing, product engineering, support, customer success, etc). The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role: The estimated base salary range for this role is $154,000 - $215,200. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.
