VetsEZ is seeking a
Cache Database Administrator
to support the Department of Veterans Affairs' Office of Information & Technology (OI&T), Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO) and Data Analytic (DA) project. This project will be replacing and updating the VA's current Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. The ideal candidate will be creating, implementing and managing expansive database administration programs and needs experience in reviewing database performance trends, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities:
Maintain multiple databases by identifying and solving database requirements and supporting users.
Identify database requirements by interviewing customers, analyzing department applications, programming, and operations, evaluating existing systems and designing proposed systems.
Install revised or new systems by proposing specifications and flowcharts, recommending optimum access techniques, coordinating installation requirements.
Must have experience reacting to problems and correcting the program as necessary.
Write clean and scalable code using Cache programming language.
Verify and review code in sustainment efforts when bugs or defects are discovered.
Test and deploy applications and systems.
Serve as an expert on applications and provide technical support.
Research, develop HL7 messages and manage approval process.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other Engineering or technical discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in information technology and/or Federal Government contracting.
Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR), VA's Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA), and/or Oracle Health Millennium.
Strong cloud engineering experience with AWS and Azure cloud technologies and expertise in IT infrastructure technology processes and tools.
Working with databases: SQL, Cache, Oracle, Dynamo DB, etc.
Experience with, IRIS, and/or InterSystems.
Proven work experience with Cache/Object Script/MUMPS.
Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing.
Excellent analytical, organizational and clear communication skills.
An ability to understand front-end users' requirements and a problem-solving attitude.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience in the Department of Veteran's Affairs (VA).
Advanced knowledge of Cache and SQL.
Ability to obtain a government clearance.
