JOB PURPOSE

:

The Business Analyst (BA) is a key role at AF serving as the primary liaison between the customers, and across all internal AF internal teams. The BA is often referred to as the 'glue' that holds an agile team together and keeps requirements, product documentation, training and release information flowing in all directions.

As a fundamental priority, the BA provides prioritized user stores and requirements to agile development teams that collectively represent value to the end-user. The BA provides consistent direction for the what, the why, and the value proposition for AF application changes. The BA works closely with the Product Owner and Product Manager to ensure the product backlog is prioritized and aligned to the product roadmap. A BA will typically be responsible for one product and will be a team player on that project.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProduct Planning, Product Requirements and Alignment:

For assigned product(s), work with product team members to understand and meet the product roadmap and quarterly release plans/commitments. Work closely with the Product Owner (PO) and Product Manager (PM) to resolve dependencies in design, development, testing and training across the AF application suite.Product Analytics:

Promote user-centric focus by following best practice in data analytics to understand users, business and product usage to provide deeper insights for opportunities for product improvement and optimization. Responsibilities include data analysis, market research, competitive analysis, product performance tracking and reporting. Be conversant in technologies to query data, analyze and map data, create flows.Business Requirements and Analysis:

Follow the product and business requirement process. Seek answers to outstanding questions in order to fully understand and measure the true need & value for requested enhancements. Attend customer or user sessions to gather necessary information. Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources (intake, user interaction, survey results, workflow analysis, etc.). Seek to understand the value that the requested functionality will bring to the user/company and what decisions or benefits will result as an outcome. Apply complex analytical thinking to drive and challenge requests and related assumptions in order to verify the functionality requested will meet the actual need.Member Release Process : Follow the Product Member Release process which identified the need to communicate, preview, and provide for customer testing as early as possible. These process considerations include communication, training, documentation, previews, and confirmation of customer readiness prior to implementation.Process Improvement:

Identifies and participates in continuous process improvements using metrics and industry best practices to identify, prioritize and rapidly implement process improvements.ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Experience, Education and Licensure

Experience and success developing

Agile Product Backlog and Story Refinement

for developing technology products.Demonstrated

business expertise

to contribute to prioritization for their agile team through detailed understanding of product roadmap, product backlog, AF architecture and business value for each feature. Growing knowledge of resource plans to inform the release schedule.Strong communication skills , utilizing presentation and collaboration tools to document, manage knowledge and present product features both inside and outside AF. Proven ability to effectively develop, influence, present and communicate moderately complex concepts to cross-functional teams, non-technical users, and leadership.Desire to lead

by example demonstrating the AF Leadership Brand components including but not limited to adaptability, honesty, transparency, and accountability. A well-organized and self-directed individual who can gain support for their product features. Experience as a Business Analyst or Associate Product Manager on an agile delivery team.2 years in business, technology, or consulting

with direct experience as a business analyst delivering technology products through agile teams. Experience eliciting, analyzing, and documenting requirements, authoring user stories and acceptance criteria, building process flows (workflow diagramming), data Dictionary authoring and creating other associated artifacts to inform software engineers and the development needs.Knowledge of insurance industry within auto property & casualty preferred .Strong skills in agile development methodologies

as typically acquired through a Bachelors' degree in relevant field (business, computer science, statistics, humanities etc.) Experience applying best practices in product documentation, and requirements. Resourceful, highly motivated to deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Jira and Confluence.Intermediate Data/Technical SQL skills

and experience with relational databases and complex data models. Writing SQL scripts, proficiency in data analysis tools, data mapping for web services, API, data mismatches, Postman experience, Soap UI and Rest API experience

desired.Experienced at multitasking

and management of competing priorities.
