Opportunity:
The Hardware Technician provides Tier 2 and 3 on-site and remote supports for computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment.Conducts site surveysAssesses and documents current site configuration and user requirementsAnalyzes existing requirements and prepares specifications for hardware acquisitionsPrepares engineering plans and site installation Technical Design PackagesDevelops hardware installation schedulesPrepares drawings documenting configuration changes at each sitePrepares site installation and test reportsConfigures computers, communications devices and peripheral equipmentTrains site personnel in proper use of hardwareBuilds specialized interconnecting cablesTroubleshoot, repair, and test computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipmentInstall and configure computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment and associated cablingMaintain government and/or vendor-manufactured fiber optic modems, multiplexer, fiber optic/Ethernet cables & telephone systemsUpdates technical drawings using AutoCAD software as needed
Qualifications:Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
Minimum education and experience level: High school/GED and a minimum of five (5) years of experience. Equivalent education and experience: Associates degree and two (2) years of experience.Must have one of the following 8570 certifications:
A+ CE, NET+ or Sec+ CEHighly skilled in installing, repairing and troubleshooting computer hardware and peripherals. Well-versed in installing windows, software, applications, antivirus and patchesDemonstrated ability to read and understand technical manuals and schematicsExpertise in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)Able to manage time and priorities effectivelyAble to work efficiently with minimal supervisionProficient in working with end-users remotelyDemonstrated expertise in Microsoft Windows 7 and 10Familiar with Active Directory security and policiesExcellent analytical and problem solving skillsOutstanding communication skills to relate with team members and support workersMust to be able to lift 50 lbs.Must be able to drive company vehicle.Must be available to work some 8 hour shift between the hours of 6am-6pm, as determined by management.Required Clearance:
