Costume Head

Midland University, a private, liberal arts university, is seeking a Costume Head. The Costume Head's primary role is to oversee the costuming for three main-stage productions.

This position will be "hours as needed" for three main-stage productions. The datesfor the shows are:1. Into the Woods: November 6th-10th.2. Bat Boy: The Musical: February 5th-9th.3. Rent: April 9th-13th.

This position's compensation is a stipend per main-stage production. The stipend amount can be discussed during the interview process.

Schedule: A work schedule will be created to fit the applicant's and department's needs

Primary Responsibilities:● Design/Build the costumes, makeup, and wigs for the three main-stage productions listed above.● Process and manage the day-to-day budgeting needs of the productions with the Director of Theatre (invoices, check requests, purchase orders, budget tracking, etc.)● Oversee the supervision and management of the department's work-study student and volunteers in the costume, makeup, and wig areas● Coordinate costume inventory and cleaning during our company strikes following the last performance of each production.● Return of any rented costumes after each production.● Cultivate positive relationships with students and staff that foster academic success.● Other duties as assigned by your direct supervisor.

Qualifications:● A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.● Strong written and verbal communication skills.● Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.● The flexibility to work some evening and weekend hours as needed for special events.● Demonstrated experience in higher education preferred
