Licensed Customs BrokerSummaryCavalier Logistics is seeking a full-time licensed Customs Broker to join our team.The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of import operations. Duties for this position will include compliance reviews of import transactions, data entry for transmission to customs via the ABI system, keeping all customs entry documentation current, obtaining releases from other government agencies, arranging delivery and billing after Customs release, communicating with overseas agents to determine rates and routing of imported goods, daily correspondence with clients and vendors and other duties as may be assigned. Licensed Customs Brokers or people with cargo classification experience are encouraged to apply.Job descriptionResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:Educate customers about U.S. Customs and Other Government Agency (OGA) requirementsFile entries with U.S. Customs, ensure timely dispatch of cargo, and perform accurate reporting and billingGenerate, file, and maintain up-to-date and accurate customer records, reports, documentation, databases, etc.Prepare and review routine reportsRespond to customer inquiries and follow-up to ensure issue resolution and customer satisfactionDemonstrate solid decision-making skills and ability to prioritize ever-changing daily tasksPossess knowledge of service offerings, logistical concepts and supply chain terminologyHandle customs clearance, ISF filingReview shipping documents and commercial invoices to prepare accurate customs entriesResponsible for correctly classifying and determine customs duties and feesPosition is expected to be able to handle ISF, classification, entry processing, issue and follow up on Delivery Orders, handle customs exams, communicate timely and consistently with clients, and invoice files until closed.Perform air and ocean operations, coordination, and quotationBuild close and strong relationships with customers, overseas agents, and service providersCommunicate effectively with customers, overseas agents, service providers, and co-workersCoordinate with importers and overseas agents to gather documentsReview documents to ensure they are compliantAccurate and timely data entry into our systemTrack shipments daily and provide shipment status to customer and overseas agentsRequirements :Minimum 5 years of experience working in an import and 3 years as a licensed brokerCustoms Broker License requiredKnowledge of Federal Import trade regulations and enforcementKnowledge of FTZ, PLAIR, Re-conciliation, Duty drawback filingFamiliarization with OGA regulations such as FDA, FCC, USDA, CDS, DCMA and BATFProvide and ensure a high level of customer service by developing and maintaining a strong relationship with customers' front line personnel in the various operating divisions and subsidiariesExperience in a 3PL environment. Our services include export and domestic forwarding, local p/u and delivery, warehousing and distribution.
