Summary:The ECC Technician (EMT-P) demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his / her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation. The ECC Technician performs technical aspects of patient care as delegated by the RN according to established standards of care, procedures, guidelines, and competencies. Performs other duties as assigned. The ECC Technician demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant HealthCare and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.

Responsibilities:

Model's Covenant's Mission, Vision, and Values of keeping our commitment to Extraordinary Care For Every Generation.

Performs direct patient care in the ECC.

Practices within his/her scope of practice as defined by the State of MI and Saginaw Valley Medical Control Authority.

Performs observation of patient vitals during patient transport.

Call code as necessary.

Performs patient assessment, including vital signs.

Performs IV starts.

Has demonstrated ability to operate a cardiac monitor including defibrillation, pacing, rhythm interpretation.

Performs airway management as necessary.

Other information:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Licensed by the State of Michigan-EMT-P required.

Certification of BLS and ACLS required.

2 years experience as an EMT-P in a pre-hospital setting, preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Computer competency, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Previous hospital experience is preferred.

Excellent communication and customer service skills are required.

Basic computer skills preferred.

Sound judgment in handling confidential or sensitive issues and material.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to maintain punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.

Constant walking Frequent lifting up to 100 lbs.

Frequent standing, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing, near vision, midrange vision, far vision, depth perception, color vision and field of vision

Occasional lifting up to 100 or more lbs.

Occasional sitting, lifting, carrying, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, squatting, crawling, twisting, reaching, handling, feeling, tasting/smelling and visual accommodation
