Job Summary
Our Provide expert level design and development expertise to the creation and maintenance of SQL Server databases and data structures other products as requested. Interfaces with developers and users to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deploy database and data storage and recovery solutions. Trains other team members and provides technical leadership in database design and development matters. Helps develop and support database best practices. This position operates on a hybrid work model.
Major Responsibilities
Lead the design, installation, configuration, and upgrading of database management systems and related products.Develop and implement comprehensive database performance tuning and optimization strategies.Design and oversee backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.Implement advanced security measures to protect sensitive data and comply with industry regulations.Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, providing expert-level support.Design and develop high-performance secure databases in support of company operations without supervision.Effectively troubleshoot and diagnose database performance problems.Ensure databases are efficiently maintained in an optimal manner, including regular backups, security patches, and software updates.Provide company with data architecture and data administration support as required queries are website designs are compliant with the major browsers.Support programming staff with best practice query optimization and key utilization, data storage and retention techniques, and general SQL programming practicesAnticipate, identify, and mitigate problem areas.Develop prototypes and proofs of concept for end users.Meet with developers and users to define database requirements.Provide direction and guidance to less experienced staff.Participate in code reviews with developers.Performs testing of databases.Other duties as assignedQualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.Minimum of 5 years of database administration experienceExpert level skills with MS SQL Server databases.Strong experience in server side development, including web services, WCF and APIStrong with Salesforce/Financial Force integrations and developmentStrong experience with SQL, C# and Javascript. .Strong experience with object-oriented programming.Strong analytical abilitiesStrong customer service attitudeProficiency with versioning tools, such as SVN or GIT.Physical Requirements
Ability to multi-task technical problems efficientlyAbility to communicate technical concepts to both users and programmers effectivelyProblem-solvingFrequent computer and telephone useSitting for long periods of timeConcentrating for long periods of time.Occasional travel of less than 25% may be required.
