Dynamic Church Planting International (DCPI) is seeking a part-time Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization and providing strategic financial guidance to ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of the organization.About DCPIDCPI is a non-profit (501c3) organization based in Oceanside, California with partners and staff working throughout the world. We train Christian leaders on every inhabited continent of the world to plant churches in their communities, in their languages. We respect fresh ideas, and we love providing coaching and growth opportunities for those who are ready for more!Skills Needed:Proven experience as a financial controller or similar role, preferably within a non-profit organization.In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices.Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent organizational and time management abilities.High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.CPA or CMA certification is a plus.Passion for the mission and values of a Christian worldwide training organization.Responsibilities:Oversee all financial operations and direct the organization’s financial planning and accounting practices.Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.Budgeting and Forecasting:Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts.Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections.Audit and Compliance:Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors, and assess any changes necessary.Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.Payroll and Benefits Administration:Oversee payroll processing and ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.Grant and Donor Management:Manage and track grants and donations, ensuring proper allocation and reporting.Prepare financial reports for grant applications and donor communications.Supervise and mentor finance department staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.Provide training and support to team members on financial processes and systems.Technical Duties:Utilize accounting software and other financial tools to maintain accurate financial records.Stay informed about emerging financial and accounting practices and technology.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA or advanced degree preferred.Proven experience in financial management, preferably in the nonprofit sector.Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.Experience working with boards of directors or subcommittees preferred.Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.AccountabilityThis role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.Hours10-12 hours per weekCompensationThis position is support-raised or volunteer.LocationOceanside, CA or remote. Meetings with the subcommittee on the board may be conducted virtually or in person, depending on availability.
