We are building a continuum of care model that is growing to respond to the changing needs of families. ABOUT THE ROLE The Wraparound Parent Partner utilizes their own experiences as the parent/caregiver of a child who has experienced trauma and/or significant emotional/behavioral issues, to deliver direct supportive services to parents/caregivers of a child referred to or receiving wraparound services. The Parent Partner ensures that parent/caregiver/family voice and choice is understood and utilized by other wraparound team members. TYPICAL DUTIES Meets with client regularly, communicating compassion, support, respect, and enthusiasm for them. Listens to the family’s story and identifies strengths, needs, preferences, and goals. Relates personal experience to assist in building trust. Works with the client to identify and reach out to natural supports. Assesses and reviews the family’s ability to communicate their own position and preferences. Supports the family to maximize their participation and voice in the development of the cross-system care plan. Brainstorms and negotiates strategies that build on family strengths. Provides a range of supportive interventions and activities as agreed with the family. Assists the family in analyzing progress towards goals and encourages their feedback. Maintains productivity standards for direct service. Ensures timely collection of statistical information for external funding sources. Ensures compliance with applicable agency contracts and confidentiality requirements. Participates in scheduled supervision and team meetings. Remains current with professional development requirements. Complies with all Childhaven policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Self-identify as a parent/caregiver to a child who has experienced trauma. Experienced positive child/family outcomes. Have or obtain the Peer Counselor Certification from the State of Washington within 6 months of hire. Possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record. Childhaven background check and drug screen requirement. A cleared portable background check through Washington Department of Early Learning. Maintain current certifications including Child/infant CPR, first aid and AED. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Prior experience in a peer support role.
