Anthropic is seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead a distributed IT engineering and service desk team across different time zones. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing IT engineering and support staff, implementing ITIL/ITSM best practices, and fostering a security mindset. Manage a distributed team of IT engineers and support specialists across different time zonesEnsure the effective execution of the team’s responsibilities, including IT engineering projects, systems administration, technical troubleshooting, new hire onboarding, account provisioning, hardware requests, and asset managementDevelop and maintain a user knowledge base, creating and curating documentation and training materialsManage cross-functional projects for the deployment and maintenance of endpoints, corp managed software, and IT automationImplement and maintain ITIL/ITSM best practices to ensure efficient IT support operationsMonitor service metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary process changesCoach and mentor staff to enhance their skills and ensure they are equipped to handle the unique challenges of a hypergrowth AI startup environmentFoster a security mindset within the team, promoting awareness of potential threatsEnsure compliance with IT policies, security protocols, and regulatory requirementsYou may be a good fit if you have:
Extensive experience leading distributed IT engineering or service desk teamsPrior engineering experienceStrong communication, interpersonal, and people management skillsFamiliarity with ITIL and IT service management best practicesExperience with Mac environments and supporting macOS softwareThe ability to set team priorities effectivelyA passion for delivering an exceptional customer service experienceExperience working in a hypergrowth technology startupKnowledge of relevant scripting/automation toolsFamiliarity with cloud technologies and SaaS applications used in modern workplacesUnderstanding of cybersecurity principlesDemonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop team membersExperience with ticketing system configuration and reportingAn ability to contribute to the development and maintenance of user knowledge basesCandidates need not have:

Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in our office at least 25% of the time.Deadline to apply: None. Anthropic’s compensation package consists of three elements: salary, equity, and benefits. We are committed to pay fairness and aim for these three elements collectively to be highly competitive with market rates.Equity - On top of this position's salary (listed above), equity will be a major component of the total compensation.
