The School of Nursing (SoN) at San Francisco State University seeks applicants for its part-time lecture faculty pool. The SoN provides undergraduate and graduate students with innovative classroom, clinical, simulated, and community experiences. We provide nursing education and academic activities emphasizing patient-centered care, patient safety, teamwork and collaboration, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, informatics, leadership, and lifelong learning. We seek individuals with experience working with diverse and/or underserved populations.
QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Nursing Unencumbered California RN license One-year full-time RN experience in the previous 5 years Current BLS for practicum courses Evidence of a sensitivity to, understanding of, and the ability to manage the classroom environment and effectively provide instruction to college students of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and racial/ethnic backgrounds Previous teaching experience preferred CURRENT TEACHING OPPORTUNITIES Undergraduate courses and graduate nursing courses. Undergraduate courses include: Medical-Surgical Nursing theory and practicum Human Development and Health Assessment theory and practicum Reproductive Health Nursing theory and practicum Pediatric Nursing theory and practicum Community Public Health Nursing theory and practicum Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing theory and practicum Research and Evidence-Based Practice in Nursing theory Chronic Care and End of Life Theory Graduate courses include: Health Systems Management Health Care Policy and Nursing Leadership Advanced Physical Assessment Advanced Pathophysiology and Diagnostic Reasoning Pharmacological Principles Epidemiology and Biostatistics Program Planning and Financial Management Ethics Adult/gerontology Pediatrics Women’s Health Psychiatric Mental Health Community Public Health Administration Family Nurse Practitioner The mode of instruction is determined by the department to align with student and program needs. Instructors should be flexible teaching online or in-person according to university guidelines and policies. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES San Francisco State University supports faculty with professional development opportunities such as ongoing training through the Center for Equity and Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CEETL). The CEETL courses provide a systematic way to assure ongoing course quality and opportunities for new skill development in teaching courses in any learning mode, from in-person to online courses. Lecturer A/2 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,007 – $6,359 per month Lecturer B/3 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,925 – $12,594 per month Lecturer C/4 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,500 – $13,831 per month Lecturer D/5 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $8,184 – $14,487 per month Anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
