The Psychology Department at San Francisco State University is dedicated to the discovery of knowledge about human behaviors, beliefs, and emotions. Established in 1934 and serving over 1,200 undergraduate and 100+ graduate students, we seek to share knowledge with our students and the greater community. We work in classroom, clinical, research, and community settings to provide undergraduate and graduate-level training that emphasizes psychological theory, the scientific method, and the application of psychological knowledge to important real-world issues. Collectively, we promote an environment of mutual respect, transparency, and a commitment to culture, diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Department seeks instructors for many of the courses offered in our undergraduate and graduate programs. Please consult the bulletin ( Course Bulletin ) and indicate in your cover letter which courses you are qualified to teach. Qualifications Required: Master’s degree in Psychology or a closely related field. Preferred: Record of teaching contributions in Psychology at the undergraduate or graduate level; Demonstrated ability to incorporate inclusion, diversity, and educational equity in teaching; Experience working closely with students from historically underrepresented communities; Record of contributing to collegial, supportive, and collaborative work environments; Application Applicants are required to upload the following documents: a cover letter expressing interest in the classes that you would like to teach; a current Curriculum Vitae, including details of current and previous teaching experience; the names, addresses, phone numbers, and emails of two professional references who are in a position to comment on the applicant’s current or previous teaching experience. Compensation: Lecturer A/2 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,007 – $6,359 per month Lecturer B/3 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,925 – $12,594 per month Lecturer C/4 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,500 – $13,831 per month Lecturer D/5 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $8,184 – $14,487 per month Anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
